SVEEP Cell and ELC of GGM Science College, Jammu organised Voters Awareness Program

JAMMU, Sept 17: SVEEP Cell and ELC (Electoral Literacy Club) of GGM Science College, Jammu in collaboration with the SVEEP, Nodal Officers of AC-76 Jammu East, organized a Voters Awareness Program. The event, held on today, aimed to educate and engage the student community about the vital role of voting in a democratic society. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, of the college. He illustrated the critical role young voter's plays in the democratic process. He said that, students are the election ambassador and will play a crucial role in promoting electoral literacy and encouraging their peers and community members to participate actively in the electoral process.
The program featured an array of insightful and interactive segments designed to underscore the importance of informed and active participation in the electoral process. Notably, four students from GGM Science College Maithly, Mohd Ayoub Jan, Arooj Shakin and Ms. Prachi of Sem 5th presented their innovative ideas on how to increase voter turnout and engagement among the youth. Their contributions sparked lively discussions and showcased the potential of young minds in shaping democratic practices. Additionally, students from Govt. Hr. Sec. School Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu presented an impactful skit under the guidance of Dr. Arti Sharma and her associates highlighted the challenges and responsibilities associated with voting. The skit not only entertained but also educated the audience, providing a creative perspective on the significance of electoral participation. At the end Romesh Kumar, Nodal Officer SVEEP, AC-76 Jammu East shared their views on the occasion. The program concluded with a voter pledge campaign and a voter awareness rally. The event was executed by the SVEEP Cell and ELC of the college. The faculty members who present in the event were, Prof. Shafia, Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Prof. Brinder Kumar (Convener ELC), Dr. Chaman Lal (Convener SVEEP), Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Prof. Altaf Ahmed, Prof. Gourab Gupta, Dr. Akanksha Parihar, including staff from Govt. Hr. Sec. School Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu.
