| 2 bottleggers arrested, 98 bottles of illicit liquor seized | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: Intenstifying its drive against the sale/consumption of illicit liquor, District Police Udhampur have arrested 02 bottleggers in the jurisdiction of Chenani and Rehambal.
Today on 17.09.2024, a Police team of PS Rehambal led by its SHO while performing patrolling/naka checking duty in collaboration with FST team near supply morh Udhampur apprehended one pedestrian namely Ashok Kumar S/O Paras Ram R/O Takoli, Udhampur who was turning to be suspicious as he tried to flee away from the spot on seeing police team.
During frisking/checking, 58 bottles of JK Special Whisky (180 ml) were recovered which he had kept in his possession. The said person has been arrested on spot.
In this regards, a case FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal.
Meanwhile in another instance, police team of PS Chenani apprehended one suspect namely Kaka Ram S/O Khem Raj R/O Panchari A/P Chenani from Chenani-Domail road for checking purpose.
On frisking/ checking, police team was able to recover 40 more bottles of JK Special Whisky (250ml) were recovered from his illegal possession who has been arrested on spot.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No 150/2024 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stands registered in the records of P/S Chenani and investigation taken up. |
