JAMMU, MARCH 25 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for a change in the mindset regarding employment in the State, saying that the unemployment was a problem of huge magnitude requiring larger involvement of public sector. “Government’s endeavour in this regard would be second to none. However, it cannot alone provide jobs to a plethora of jobless skilled and unskilled youth”, he said adding we have to encourage larger participation of private sector.
The Chief Minister was addressing a function organized by J&K Saryara Sadar Sabha here today to facilitate him for taking over as the Chief Minister of the State.

Abdullah said the government was alive to the menace of unemployment and was working out ways and means to enhance employment opportunities in the State. To create government jobs, besides employment avenues in the private job market for educated youth, is a priority area of the government, he said.
The Chief Minister thanked the President of the Sabha, Rampal and a large gathering which jampacked the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium on the occasion. “I express my heartfelt gratitude for the reception and the warm love you have extended to me”, said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said he was aware of all issues pertaining to the development of various areas and sections of the society. “I do not believe in making noise as my actions speak on my behalf”, he said.
Earlier, Rampal and other members of the Sabha, in their welcome addresses, expressed joy that the Chief Minister spared his time to be with them. They lauded the Chief Minister for his dynamic approach towards public needs and expressed the hope that under his stewardship, the State would transform into a prosperous and developed State.
