57th Engineers Day Celebrated

Jammu, Sept 17: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Central University of Jammu celebrated 57th Engineers' Day commemorating the birthday of one of the greatest engineers in India and Bharat Ratna recipient, Sir MokshagundamVisvesvarayya. The Engineers Day celebrations started on 14th September and concluded on 17th, 2024, with a series of events themed "Innovating for a Sustainable Future." The highlight of the celebration was a 4-day Django workshop on project development, organized with collaboration with WinnoVation Education Services. The workshop was led by Mr. Gaurang Sharma, a Production Engineer at C&R Software, and Mr. Tejaswin Singh from the CSE department. Mr. Sharma, an expert in Data Science, Cloud Engineering, and DevOps, provided students with hands-on training in web application development and shared practical insights into building scalable applications using Django.
In addition to the workshop, the celebration featured several competitions, including a Photography Contest, E-sports Challenge, Design Your Website Challenge, Make Your Canvas Competition, and an Ideathon-Poster Making Contest. These events encouraged students to explore innovative solutions for a sustainable future, aligning with the theme of the celebration.
The event was successfully organized by Dr. Jasvinder Pal Singh, Dr. Palak Mahajan, Dr. Harnain Kour, Dr. Gourav Kumar, Mr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Mr. Gaurav Thakur, and Mr. Zakir Ahmad Sheik. Members of the University’s Code Connect coding club also played an active role in the event's success.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, CUJ congratulated the students on their achievements and extended his best wishes.
Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering for motivating students to participate in such enriching events and also highlighted the importance of innovation and creativity in engineering.
Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Head of the Department, praised the participants for their creativity and dedication and encouraged them to mark their presence in future events also.
The winners from various events areawarded with certificates and momento for their participation and achievement. Winners of various events are Yachhat, Arshiya, Radhika Gupta, LaviSaina, Kumar Sachin, Saketh Pendem, Anish Busi, Mandati Vamshidhar Reddy and Dheeraj Rathod.
