| Bhalla calls on CM | | Seeks his intervention in solving problems of Gandhinagar constituency | | Early Times Report JAMMU, MARCH 25 – A deputation led by former Minister and MLA, Raman Bhalla called on the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here today and sought his intervention for solving various problems confronting the people in Gandhinagar constituency. Bhalla, while pleading for improvement in drinking water supply, urged for early commissioning of the tube-wells at Transport Nagar, Digiana and Sainik Colony which have been already completed. Besides some old tube-wells in Chatta, Delli, Greater Kailash, Nai Basti and Nanak Nagar also need to be recharged to augment the existing water supply position in the area. The MLA also urged the need for construction of intake reservoir for water Filtration Plant at Bhoria to improve and streamline the water supply position in Sunjwan, Sainik Colony, Bathendi and Bahu-Fort areas. The problem of frequent traffic jams in Satwari, Kunjwani and Channi Himmat areas in the vicinity of industrial area, causing great inconvenience to the commuters, also came up for discussion. It was strongly pleaded to take up construction of a flyover at Channi Himmat up to Trikuta Nagar and execution of 6-lanning of the road between Kunjwani Chowk to Satwari Chowk to solve the problem. Bhalla also stressed the need for regularization of various housing colonies including Nai Basti, Balmiki Basti, Bahu Fort and Sanjay Nagar to improve civic amenities in these areas. He also urged for building sufficient ration stocks in the depots of CA&PD to ensure adequate supply of food-grains to the people in various areas of the constituency. The Chief Minister’s intervention was also sought for improving telecom facilities in various areas of the Gandhinagar constituency. The CM assured the MLA that his demands would be considered and looked into. |
