Dewan Devi Public School hosts election awareness programme

JAMMU, Sept 18: In an effort to raise awareness about the electoral process and the importance of voting, students of Dewan Devi Public School actively participated in an Election Awareness Programme organized by the District Election Officer (D.E.C.). The programme, held under the supervision of Vikas Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development (A.C.D.), featured Dr. Avneet Prashar, Nodal Head, who provided key insights on the importance of voting.
Also in attendance were prominent figures including Poonam Gandotra, Dr. Sitaram Sharma, and Nitin Sharma. The initiative was designed to educate students and the local community about their civic responsibilities ahead of the upcoming elections.
The programme featured a variety of interactive and engaging sessions to help students from Class 11th and 12th grasp the significance of voter registration, how to cast a vote, the electoral process, and the crucial role youth play in shaping the nation's future.
In addition to the educational sessions, the school also organized a Plantation and Stone Painting drive, promoting environmental consciousness among students.
The Chairman of the school, Subhash Chander Suri, expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries for their participation and urged the students to stay on the right path in pursuit of their goals.
This event marks a significant step towards empowering the younger generation to participate actively in the democratic process, ensuring a brighter and more informed future for all.
