Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 18: In a profound sermon delivered to an eager congregation in Ranjdi, Jammu, Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj of Sahib Bandagi shed light on the nature of the soul, the role of the mind and Maya, and the eternal quest for salvation. With his signature eloquence, Sadguru Ji emphasized the purity and uniqueness of the soul, describing it as an entity beyond the five physical elements.
During the sermon, Sadguru Ji pointed out that while everyone speaks of the soul's freedom from the bindings of mind and Maya, few truly understand its significance. He recounted an interaction with a man who questioned the need for salvation, citing material wealth and happiness as his primary concerns. Sadguru Ji explained that such views are born from ignorance and attachment to worldly possessions, comparing it to a child unaware of the value of money.
Sadguru Ji elaborated that just as a child grows to understand the importance of money, humans must grow in spiritual awareness to recognize the necessity of salvation. He likened the soul to pure water, which, when mixed with impurities, appears dirty, but remains pure at its core. The sermon urged devotees to seek salvation, as it is the ultimate purpose of human life.
"Man works hard to accumulate wealth and fulfill worldly desires, but at the end of life, like a gambler who loses everything, he must leave it all behind," Sadguru Ji said, highlighting the transient nature of worldly pursuits.
Expounding on the concept of Maya, Sadguru Ji explained that humans are bound by their physical bodies, which consist of the five elements. However, the soul, the source of life and energy, is pure and eternal. He warned that ignorance and attachment to material things cloud the soul's true nature, causing individuals to believe that the mind and body are their reality.
"In ignorance, everything seems real and ours, but we are trapped in the illusion of mind and Maya," Sadguru Ji explained.
Sadguru Ji concluded the sermon by encouraging his followers to rise above ignorance and take the right steps toward salvation. He stressed that many, out of ignorance, refuse to seek the proper means for salvation, and as a result, they remain bound by their attachments to the material world.
The sermon left a lasting impact on the devotees, inspiring them to reflect on the true purpose of life and the path to salvation.
