EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MARCH 25 – A 30-day-long Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme in Biotechnology with thrust on Medicinal Aromatic Plants (MAPs) Technologies was inaugurated today at JKEDI Conference Hall, here today. Around 40 participants representing Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Doda and Srinagar districts will attend the skill development programme. The programme is being organized by Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSMEDI) J&K, in association with State Medicinal Plants Board, and Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI). During the programme, the participants shall be motivated to exploit the potential in MAPs by providing them information covering behavioral, confidence building, technical, marketing, support system and resource management inputs. Top notch guest faculties will be invited from outside the state representing various departments like National Medicinal Plants Board, New Delhi, Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannauj, UP, Indian Institute of Integrated Medicine, Jammu/Srinagar, SKAUST Jammu/Srinagar and J&K Forest Research Institute etc. The participants will also interact with the successful first-generation entrepreneurs to boost their confidence level. Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, CEO, State Medicinal Plants Board, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, informed the participants that Government is providing enough support to the entrepreneurs in this area and as such the participants should take benefit of these programmes and schemes.
Shri Ram Sahai, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu, appreciated the initiative taken by MSME Development Institute and suggested that such programmes should be held more frequently. Director, J&K EDI, Dr. M. I. Parray assured the participants of all possible assistance for better conversion of participants into prosperous entrepreneurs. Earlier, Programme Coordinator, Deputy Director, MSME Development Institute, Verinder Sharma outlined the objective of the programme. He also highlighted the significant features of the training programme and hoped that the programme will be a great success. |
