The event held at Malviya Shiksha Bhawan, was coordinated by Dr. Arvind and brought together an intellectually stimulating discussion on the theme "Jammu and Kashmir State Elections: Strengthening the Prospects of Hope and Democracy."
The session witnessed the active participation of students, including Eklavya, Rashmi, Alok, Prangya, Ritik, and Talib, who engaged in a deep and insightful discourse. The discussion revolved around the pivotal role of elections in restoring political stability, ensuring governance, and upholding democratic values in Jammu and Kashmir, a region often at the heart of national attention.
The speakers emphasized that elections serve as a cornerstone for fostering democratic hope in a conflict-sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir, where political representation is critical to bridging regional aspirations and promoting peace. They discussed how free and fair elections can instil a sense of empowerment among citizens and enhance trust in democratic institutions. Through well-argued perspectives, participants analyzed the challenges faced by the electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir, ranging from logistical concerns to political complexities. They also offered potential solutions for making elections more inclusive and representative.
The session concluded on a high note, with the participants unanimously agreeing that democratic elections are key to ensuring long-term peace, development, and hope in the region. The contribution of the students, combined with the academic leadership of Central University Jammu made this event a meaningful platform for constructive political dialogue.
