| Handball Federation office sealed by Council | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 25: To get the government accommodation vacated from the undeserved beneficiaries, the J&K State Sports Council today sealed the office of the Handball Federation of India at MA Stadium, here.
Otherwise hardly opened to the visitors, the space was occupied by the Federation through its secretary general, S M Bali, who belongs to J&K, for over a decade.
Since the Sports Council has decided to develop dormitories within M A Stadium for the comfortable stay of the visiting players, a decision was taken at higher level to get such accommodations vacated from the undeserving individuals and organization.
Accordingly, a notice was issued to the Handball Federation secretary to vacate the office space. And, getting no response from the secretary, the Sports Council officials called the police and prepared the inventory of the material found in side the office and sealed the room.
“Yes, I have come to know that Council in the presence of higher officials and police sealed the office of Handball Federation of India at MA Stadium,” District Manager of State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma told SAN on telephone from New Delhi.
When contacted, S M Bali said, “I had visited the Secretary Sports Council, P S Gill with a plea to give me some more time to shift the record to Delhi. I was given an assurance in this regard.”
Meanwhile, it has been reliably learnt that S M Bali was running a full-fledged office from Jammu by appointing, Y R Suri as office secretary.
