Save J&K, Save Nation’: Rattan Lal calls for support to National Conference in upcoming Assembly Elections
BJP Govt utterly failed to curb terrorism in J&K
9/22/2024 9:50:25 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 22: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has emphasized that only the JKNC can restore peace, stability, and prosperity to the region. Under the slogan “Save J&K, Save Nation,” he highlighted the importance of these elections in reclaiming the lost dignity and rights of the people.
In a statement issued here today, Rattan Lal Gupta expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of Jammu and Kashmir during the past decade under BJP rule.
“The last ten years have seen a manifold increase in the miseries of the people. Unemployment has skyrocketed, people have been deprived of their fundamental rights, and essential services like regular water and power supply have become scarce.
The situation is made worse by inflated power bills, putting an additional burden on struggling households,” he said.
The senior NC leader raised serious concerns over the rising incidents of terrorism in Jammu region, stating that the BJP has utterly failed to curb the menace of terrorism. “Jammu was once a safe, secure, and terrorism-free region under the National Conference’s regime.
But today, under BJP’s rule, not only have innocent people lost their lives, but our brave soldiers continue to be targeted and sacrifice their lives in the line of duty during encounters,” he lamented.
Rattan Lal further criticized the BJP’s hollow slogans of peace and development, pointing out that even during recent visits by the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister to Jammu and Kashmir, encounters with terrorists were ongoing in the Union Territory.
“On one hand, the PM, HM and DM were addressing election rallies, promising peace and prosperity, while on the other, security forces were battling terrorists.
This contradiction exposes the BJP’s failure to bring lasting peace to J&K,” he asserted.
The senior NC leader reaffirmed the National Conference’s commitment to uplifting the general public, laying out key promises from the party’s manifesto. He assured that if voted to power, the NC would prioritize providing one lakh jobs to the unemployed youth of J&K, ensure a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for eligible beneficiaries, supply of 12 LPG cylinders per year to EWS, and grant of Rs 5000 per month to elderly women of households.
He emphasized that the NC manifesto reflects the genuine needs, free 200 power units, free drinking water, free education upto graduation level and aspirations of the people, and the party is committed to bringing about real change and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rattan Lal Gupta made an appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support the National Conference in the Assembly elections.
He emphasized that this is a critical moment in the history of J&K and the nation and that people must come together to Save J&K, Save the Nation, and restore the rights and dignity of the people by casting their votes for the National Conference.
