| Gupta criticizes UPA for its soft policy towards terrorists | | NC-Congress buckling under pressure | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 25- Expressing his shock over the rise in the security forces casualties while fighting with the militants, the BJP Legislators Party leader and former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has attributed this increase to the policies of Congress-NC leaders, who have been buckling under pressure of the elements politicizing the issue of so-called human right violations and are raising the boggy with a design to demoralize the men fighting a proxy war launched by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. Commenting upon the happenings of the past few days, Prof. Gupta said that all these indicate that there was no let up in the cross border terror and the infiltration of heavily armed trained ultras was still going on unabated and enemy agents were out to malign the troops to help the infiltrators and terrorists. But it was unfortunate that the UPA Government is soft towards terrorists and the Coalition of the State has come to be friendly towards those who are indulging in anti-national activities. Prof. Gupta said that softness of the Congress-PDP in the past and now that of the Congress-NC Coalitions could be well judged that during the past over six years over 10000 militancy related cases were registered in this State and about 4000 persons were arrested but there was not a single case in which any of the terrorist was punished under law of the land, he added and pointed out that on the contrary about 300 men of the police, CRPF, BSF and that of the Army were booked on allegations of violations and several of them were awarded punishment ranging from dismissal of service to ten years jail on various charges. Prof Gupta also alleged that the softness of the Congress-PDP and that of the NC towards the anti-national elements can be well gauged that during the past years over five hundred ultras and their agents were held up with crores of Hawals money as also the fake currency but there was not a single case in which any of the accused got punishment under law. He appealed to the people to understand what was happening and who was sustaining terror in troubled Kashmir. ‘They are none else but the ruling leaders alone, whether those of the NC, Congress or PDP’, he observed. Praising the Indian Army, the BJP leader observed that he had the proud honour of having association for over three years with the Army as Minister of State for Defence and on basis of his personal experience can claim that this is the best in the world, not only in the field of gallantry and valour but also taking care of human rights. Our forces have proved this fact in Jammu and Kashmir also on several occasions.
