| PDP kick starts its election campaign from Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Mar 25- Former Minister and senior PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that PDP has pioneered a political and economic agenda to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State adding that the policies and programs of the party are guided by the aspirations of all sections of the society. Addressing series of public meetings at Bhaderwah area to kick start election campaign, Veeri said that during his three years tenure as Chief Minister of the State, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has carved out a path of development and peace in this region and it is need of the hour to strengthen PDP to further address problems of the common masses. Veeri along with former Minister Peer Mohammad Hussain, PDP vice president Ved Mahajan, Sayed Asgar Ali, MLC, Shanti Devi, Mahila wing president and Thakur Balbir Singh addressed the meeting in which local leader Mujib Ali also spoke. Highlighting achievements of the three year tenure of Sayeed, Veeri said that it was during that period Bhaderwah campus of the Jammu University was set up at Bhaderwah and Bhaderwah and adjoining localities were brought on the tourist map for the economic development of the people of this region. Speaking on the occasion, former Minister Peer Mohammad Hussain said, “establishing sustainable peace and to consolidate the reconciliation process is on the top of the agenda of the PDP”. “PDP has not only established peace in the state but also accelerated developmental process for the upliftment of the neglected and backward areas”, he said and recounted various revolutionary steps initiated during PDP regime. He reminded the people about the situation which was prevailing when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took over as Chief Minister of the State. “PDP has fulfilled all the promises which were made with the people in 2002 assembly elections”, he recalled and added that due to the pro-people policies of the party peace to large extent was established in the State. Party vice president Ved Mahajan flayed National Conference leadership for betraying people of Jammu and Kashmir for the lust of power. He regretted that instead of fulfilling wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of the successive National Conference regimes played with the sentiments of the people.
