Vijay Thappa rejoins BJP in Major Political move

Akhnoor, Sept 23: In a significant development in the political landscape of Akhnoor Assembly Constituency, Vijay Thappa, the State SC Cell Coordinator of Congress, today rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This move marks a major shift ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, as Thappa, a well-known figure in the region, bid farewell to Congress and expressed his strong alignment with the public-oriented policies of BJP. The momentum of BJP’s popularity in the constituency was further underscored as hundreds of youth from Gopala, Sungal, Thati, Pangiari, and Rajachak—working in various mandis of Jammu—also joined the BJP. The mass joining took place in the presence of BJP candidate from Akhnoor Assembly Constituency, Mohan Lal Bhagat.
Prominent party leaders including District Working President Manmohan Singh, Prabhari Suraj Singh, Co-Convenor Surinder Singh, Ram Swaroop, and Bharat Bhushan Gupta were present to witness this momentous occasion.
Addressing the newly inducted members, Mohan Lal Bhagat, a former SSP and the BJP candidate for Akhnoor, welcomed the new joiners with enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of youth participation in shaping the future of the region and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the party’s vision.
The newly joined youth and Vijay Thappa assured their full commitment to the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
They vowed to work tirelessly to secure the maximum number of votes for Mohan Lal Bhagat, praising him as an “educated and highly decorated personality” who represents the future of development in Akhnoor.
Thappa and the youth also highlighted the pride Akhnoor takes in having a candidate of Bhagat’s stature and urged the public to support him with an open heart for the overall growth and prosperity of the constituency.
Among those who joined BJP were Manohar Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, and Sanjay, Ashwini Kumar, Sonu Sharma, Shammi Sharma, Sumit Kumar, Surya Prakash, Vinod Kumar, Ashwani Sharma, Mukesh Sharma, Amit Sharma, Chayan Sharma.
