District Police Udhampur Arrested 02 Bootleggers , recovered 66 bottles of illicit liquor

UdhampurSept 23; Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, District Police Udhampur have arrested 02 bootleggers in the Jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur in two different cases.
Police Party of PP Roundomail led by SHO PS Udhampur and assisted by IC PP Roundomail while performing vehicle checking duty at Roundomail Nakapoint stopped one vehicle (Ecco Van) JK20C5901 for checking.
During checking of said vehicle 21 bottles of illicit liquor (11 bottles of 750ml and 10 bottle of 180 ml) were recovered from the driver of the vehicle namely Mangat Ram S/O Chabru R/O Rakwalan, Udhampur who has been arrested on spot. In this regards, a case FIR No. 395/2024 U/S 48(A) Excise Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and investigation of case is ongoing.
In another instance Police party of Police Station Udhampur apprehended another Bootlegger namely Balbir Singh S/O Mangu R/O Sambal, Udhampur and recovered 45 more bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. In this regards another case FIR no. 392/2024, pursuant to section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered against him at Police Station Udhampur and investigation set into motion.
