| Hari Om, a disillusioned politician | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 25--Prof.Hari Om seems to be a disillusioned person. After quitting the BJP, where he functioned as the chief spokesman, he had joined the Congress. During the Assembly election the Congress utilized his services for BJP bashing. He was in demand during the Assembly election campaign. Congress leaders would take him with them for addressing pre-poll rallies in different constituencies. After the end of the election, the Congress that has come to power along with the National Conference has forgotten Hari Om. Sources close to Hari Om said that the Professor neither visits the party headquarters nor is he being invited to party meetings. The sources said that Hari Om has felt disillusioned with the politics and politicians. When these sources were asked whether Hari Om planned to join some other political party they said that the professor had no such plan. They said he has decided to spend more time on his research work and on reading and writing. Those who have worked with him know it fully that Hari Om played a vital role in streamlining the program of the Sangarsh Samiti that spearheaded the two-month long agitation against the revocation of land diversion order to the Shrine Board. Not only this Hari Om has been part of the BJP's think-tank and his notes would keep the central party leadership abreast of the political situation in the state. It was he who would guide the BJP leadership in Delhi about the policy they should adopt vis-a-vis Jammu Kashmir affairs. He could have been an asset for the Congress too but the congress leaders have their priorities fixed.
