NSS Unit 'Samarpan' of GDC Paloura Celebrates NSS Day with Enthusiasm

Jammu, Sept 24: Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura's NSS unit, 'Samarpan', celebrated NSS Day with great zeal, commemorating the noble mission of selfless social service and community well-being.
The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the NSS song, performed by the dedicated volunteers.
NSS volunteers Sonali and Monika shared their insightful views on the significant role of NSS in driving social change.
In addition, Sonali recited an inspirational poem that highlighted the pride and responsibilities of being an NSS volunteer. The students also presented a series of skits and a Nukkad Natak on pertinent themes such as mobile addiction and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, which captivated the audience.
A vibrant cultural programme, infused with the spirit of NSS, further showcased the essence of service and social commitment. Following the performances, the volunteers participated in a campus-wide cleanliness drive, emphasizing their dedication to environmental well-being.
Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal of GDC Paloura, congratulated the NSS unit on the occasion and praised their efforts in organizing impactful social and environmental initiatives such as cleanliness drives, plantation campaigns, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyaan, cyber security awareness, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, and self-defence programmes.
Prof. Geetanjali Multani, Head of the English Department, spoke about the importance of NSS in nurturing young minds and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
The programme concluded with a reading of the yearly NSS report by Dr. Shivani Sharma, NSS Programme Officer.
The celebration was a resounding success, reaffirming the NSS's mission to inspire youth towards service and nation-building.
