Early Times Report

Kathua, Sept 24: In a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity, Delhi Public School (DPS) Rajbagh, Kathua, recently hosted an emotionally uplifting Grandparents Day celebration, dedicated to honoring the irreplaceable role that grandparents play in their grandchildren’s lives. The event, held on school premises, saw a heartwarming gathering of grandparents, who were greeted with traditional Tilak and adorned with specially crafted badges as a token of the school’s respect and love.
The day began with a warm welcome speech by Principal Mr. Vivek Arora, who expressed his gratitude to the grandparents for their enduring support and love. “We are deeply honored to have you here today. Your presence is a reminder of the timeless values of wisdom, love, and care that you pass on to future generations. Rest assured, your grandchildren are in safe hands here at DPS Rajbagh,” he said.
Ms. Gauri Thakur, the esteemed Director of the school, presided over the event. Her gracious presence added further charm to the day’s proceedings. She expressed her appreciation for the valuable role grandparents play in shaping the values and character of the younger generation, calling the event a “tribute to their unconditional love and guidance.”
The Grandparents Day event was thoughtfully conceptualized by Chief Coordinator Ms. Rimjhim Wazir and Coordinator Jyoti Katoch, who ensured every detail reflected the affection and admiration the school holds for its elder members. The day was made even more special by the sincere efforts of staff members, including Lata Punia, Ranjana Punia, Diksha Jasrotia, and Rupa, who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
Anchoring the program was Diksha Jasrotia, who maintained a smooth flow of activities throughout the day. Her vibrant energy and compassionate demeanor kept the audience engaged and the program running effortlessly.
The students of DPS Rajbagh had prepared an array of performances to showcase their talents and express their love for their grandparents. From traditional dances to moving speeches, the children poured their hearts into each performance, leaving the audience captivated. A deeply emotional play, which poignantly illustrated the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren, moved many in the audience to tears.
The event wasn’t just about performances but also about interaction and bonding. A series of fun-filled games and activities were organized exclusively for the grandparents, adding a sense of joy and lightheartedness to the celebration.
The games saw enthusiastic participation from the elderly attendees, who not only won prizes but also shared laughter and joy with the younger generation.
The event concluded with an impromptu dance session, where grandparents grooved to their favorite tunes, further enlivening the day.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth, love, and togetherness. The event successfully created an unforgettable memory for everyone present, reaffirming the special bond that exists between generations. Grandparents left the venue with smiles, a sense of belonging, and deep appreciation for the thoughtful celebration organized by DPS Rajbagh.
