| Security beefed up in Katra town | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 25 : A tight security has been put in place ahead of nine-day long ‘navratras’ in Katra base camp of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, police sources here today said. All arrangements besides security have been made for the nine-day long ‘navratras’ going to begin from March 27. ‘’As huge rush of pilgrims reach Katra to pay obeisance at holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, security in the town has been beefed up to keep check on anti-national and anti-social elements,’’ a senior police officer told UNI. Meanwhile, additional troops of para-military forces have not only been deployed in Katra base camp but also en route 13-kilometre long track to Bhawan, the officer added. ‘’Various check points en route Bhawan have been strengthened and frisking has also been intensified without creating any problem to the pilgrims,’’ the officer added. Hundreds of pilgrims from state and across the country visit Katra every year during ‘navratras’ to have ‘darshan’ of ‘pindies’ (deities) in natural cave shrine at Bhawan, 13-kms from the base camp
