| 155th Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at GDC Nagrota | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 26: A week long banquet of activities were organized at the College to mark Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2024. Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. This year it marks the 155TH birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi's life s symbolic of Truth and Non-violence. This day is also recognized by United Nations and celebrated worldwide as International Day of Non- violence. This year Gandhi Jayanti also marks 10th Anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, an initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a clean and hygienic India. Cultural Committee GDC Nagrota in propagation of the trail of Celebrations organized various activities like Bhajan Singing, Seminar on the theme "Gandhiji's vision for sustainable future", Essay and Slogan Writing and Reel Making for the students. Students participated enthusiastically in these competitions with good spirit and zest. The winners of these competitions will be representing the College at the District level Competitions being organized by the Office of the Nodal Principal as part of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2024. |
