Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at GDC Ramban

RAMBAN, Sept 27: Govt. Degree College Ramban conducted different activities in commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Archana Kaul, worthy Principal of the College. Around 30 students participated in various intra college competition and about 100 students attended this 2 days long programme. The programme was started with the welcome note of Prof. Satish Kumar, HOD Zoology. Thereafter, Prof. Archana Kaul, Chief Guest of the occasion, appreciated the efforts made by the organizers to conduct the activities successfully. She further advised the students to learn from the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi and follow the principles of truth and non-violence in their life. On first day of the program, a movie on life and work of Mahatma Gandhi was screened for the students of the College. Thereafter Short reel making contest relevant to Gandhi ji and his teaching was held in which 6 students participated. At the end of the first day programme, a Book reading and group discussion activity was also held.
On the Second day of activities on 26 september 2024, various activities including Essay writing competition, Bhajan singing contest and Seminar were held in the smart class room of the college. In essay writing competition, six students participated in which Shaista Banoo, Sania Fareed and Tanish of Sem 3rd bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Seminar, seven students participated in which Sneha Katoch of 3rd sem, Priya Rani of 5th sem and Pankaj Kumar of 5th sem were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In Bhajan Singing competition, five students participated in which Manisha Mehra of 5th sem, Komal Rakwal of 5th sem and Sheetal Devi of 3rd sem bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The 2nd day event was coordinated by Prof. Chanakya Sharma, HOD Music.
On 3rd day of activities on 27 September 2024, eight students participated in slogan writing completion on the theme of Truth and Non-violence. Manish Mehra, student of BA semester 5th, Rubia Hussain of Semester 5th and Susheel Kumar of Semester 5th were adjudged for 1st, 2nd and 3rd postions respectively. The event was coordinated by Prof. Neetu Sharma, HOD Dogri.
Prof. Raj Kumar Gupta, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Prof. Ram Parkash and Dr. Anuj Gupta acted as judges for various activities. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Vishal Baloria.
