BLSKS celebrates “World Tourism Day” with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Sept 27: To observe the World Tourism Day 2024 , & to promote the Traditional Duggar Culture of J&K , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan presented 461th Friday Series Dogri Musical Play "SADI VIRASAT " in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art production at Durga bhawan Janipur Jammu , Jammu on the theme of this year will focus on " TOURISM AND PEACE ", highlighting the connection between tourism and global peace. The Program was inaugurated by Dr. Tara Singh Charak ,Former Deputy Director, Health Department ,J&K Government, Sh.V.K.Magotra, Former Regional Director , Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India., Sh. Romesh Chander , Event Director Shashvat Art Gallery , Dr. Anju Dogra, J&K health department, Mukesh Singh, Media Person Jammu were the Guest of Honor. . The day commemorated as "World Tourism Day 2024" as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional , Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in through general awareness items. Especially prepared on the theme like "Sadi Virasat -Sadi Virasat", "Meri Matti Mera Desh, ", "Laga Gharn Sada Setu Da Mela", "Chann Oh jija Kiya jana", " Lok Megi Tangg Sajne Di". The Skits , Nukkad Natak and Dances were also presented to aware the masses on the burning topic of the day. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective through the children of Music, theatre and computer institutions as part of celebrations of this World Tourism Day 2024, under the theme "Tourism and green investment" highlights the need for more and better-targeted investments for the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN roadmap for a better world by 2030. Now is the time for new and innovative solutions, not just traditional investments that promote and underpin economic growth and productivity. This day highlights the significance of tourism in fostering cultural exchange, economic growth and sustainable development. The day encourages people worldwide to explore the beauty and diversity of our planet while recognizing the responsibilities that come with it. Tourism not only allows us to discover new places but also bridges cultural gaps, promotes peace and contributes significantly to local economies. The term "tourism" refers to the activity of traveling to different places for leisure, business or other purposes. The word "tourism" is derived from the word "tour", which originally meant a journey. The use of the term "tourism" to describe travel for pleasure or leisure dates back to the early 19th century. The Songs on the theme were also uploaded online on Social Media for the benefit of the peoples.
The cultural program especially on the theme like songs & dances were written, directed and produced by Dr.M.L.Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS and he said tourism brings people together. On this day, we reflect on the profound connection between tourism and peace. It' s mission is to promote tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide. Discover how they are working to cope with this pandemic along with the tourism sector. Tourism is a global industry that involves people traveling to different destinations for leisure, exploration, and relaxation. It plays a most important role in the country's economy around the world, generating revenue, creating jobs, and promoting cultural exchange.
