SAMBA, Sept 27: PRAVAAD Electoral Literacy Club, Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba hosted a thought-provoking group discussion centered around the theme, "The Vital Role of Youth in Strengthening the Electoral Process" under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the College. This engaging event aimed to enlighten students on the importance of youth participation in the electoral process. With an enthusiastic turnout from students across various disciplines, the discussion highlighted how the involvement of young individuals is crucial for fostering a vibrant and inclusive democratic environment. Participants shared insights on the responsibilities of youth as informed voters, advocates for change and leaders in their communities. The session began with a keynote address from Dr. Shaveta Chowdhary, Nodal Officer SVEEP who emphasized the transformative power of youth engagement in elections underscoring the potential impact of young voters on shaping policies and governance. Following the keynote, students participated in small group discussions where they explored topics such as the significance of informed voting, the role of social media in mobilizing youth and strategies to encourage greater electoral participation among their peers. The discussions were characterized by passionate exchange of ideas, showcasing the innovative spirit of the youth in addressing challenges in the electoral landscape.
