RAJOURI, Sept 27: To ensure the highest level of security and transparency post-elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma conducted the late-night inspection of the Strong Room at Girls Higher Secondary School here the other day.
The visit aimed to review the security measures in place for the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), which are securely stored in the Strong Room till the counting process begins. Abhishek Sharma thoroughly inspected the round-the-clock CCTV surveillance system, the deployment of security personnel, and the adherence to strict access control protocols at the site. The DEO expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and commended the efforts of the security forces and election staff for their vigilant approach. “The safety of the EVMs is our top priority, especially in the critical period before counting. We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the sanctity of the election process,” Sharma stated.
He also directed the on-site officers to maintain a heightened state of alertness and to ensure that only authorized personnel are granted access to the premises. The DEO further emphasized that periodic checks should be conducted to avoid any irregularities and to maintain a seamless transition to the next phase of the election process.
The late-night visit highlights the district administration’s commitment to ensuring the highest levels of security and transparency in the post-election period, reinforcing public confidence in the election process. The Assembly Elections 2024 in Rajouri were conducted smoothly, and the administration is now fully focused on ensuring the integrity of the upcoming vote counting process.
