JAMMU, Sept 28: Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar- Jammu organised a Rabies Awareness Programme On World Rabies Day i.e on 28th (Saturday) September, 2024 in the School Premises of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School. The Programme was Conducted by Dr. Smruti Smita Mohapatra Rabies Ambassador Rabies Awareness Programme Jammu under the Banner of Vigyan Setu Foundation in order to arouse Awareness among the Students about the harmful diseases called Rabies. The Awareness talk was attended by Hundreds of Students and Teachers of Shiksha Niketan School . The theme of the Programme was "One World, One Health". It was a praiseworthy move in order to enhance the all round personality of the Students. Dr. Mohapatra, MVSC, P.hd effectively defines Rabies, its various causes and how it is affecting the society and particularly the Students. She describes various ways which are useful in order to prevent and cure the Rabies. The program included basic information about the disease, how to prevent bites and what to do if bites occur. She has also made students aware about the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960. The awareness program explained the natural behaviour of dogs, how to behave in a non- provocative way around them, and basic bite management practices. Furthermore, she discussed about the most crucial steps required for ensuring access to post-exposure treatment, and vaccinating dogs. On this graceful occasion worthy Principal of the School, Rameshwar Mengi Ji appreciated the efforts of Vigyan Setu Organisation and their Chief Spokesperson Dr. Smruti Smita Mohapatra . He congratulated and thanked the Dr. for giving such a valuable and important information to the Students about Rabies. He advised the Students to follows the instructions to remain fit and healthy.
