| Congress may contest Ladakh parliamentary seat: Soz | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 26- J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Prof Saif-Ud-Din Soz on Thursday dropped clear hints that Congress party may contest Ladakh Lok Sabha seat while clarifying that there is no dispute between the alliance partners over the seat sharing talks. "In all probability the Congress party will field its third candidate from the Ladkah parliamentary seat", Prof Soz said while addressing a press conference here today. Before facing the media Prof Soz listened to views of senior party leaders in a close door meeting at the party headquarters and issued instructions to the party cadre to pull their socks to join the poll arena. "Time has now come to go to the masses and spread the slogan of peace, hope and dignity to ensure victory of the Congress candidates in the Lok Sabha polls from Jammu and Udhampur seats", Prof Soz said. He also announced names of two senior Congress leaders Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and Ch Mohammed Aslam as head of the campaign committees from Jammu and Udhampur seats respectively. Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand will assist both the senior leaders, Prof Soz said. Prof Soz announced that apart from this a separate 14 member joint election coordination committee would be constituted to ensure victory of alliance candidates on all six Lok Sabha seats. |
