BJP Govt in J&K in less than fortnight: Kavinder
9/29/2024 9:10:57 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 29: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Sunday said that there will be a BJP government in J&K in less than a fortnight.
While intensifying campaigning in favour of BJP candidates on the last day of campaigning here today, the BJP stalwart leader said that looking at the trends of voting in the first two phases and the enthusiasm and support of BJP among the voters awaiting third phase polling, one can easily guess that soon after October 8, there will be a BJP's majority government in place in the Union Territory as other parties have become a divided lot with many already conceded defeat as their leaders have gone into hibernation and the activists finding solace under BJP's realms.
Kavinder, being one of the Incharges of the BJP's J&K Unit's Election Committee, has however asked the party cadre to remain active on ground till the polling of third phase is pending because ensuring maximum voting in this phase should be the ultimate aim of BJP leadership. He said that this time the elections in J&K hold much significance because the results in favour of the party will showcase the endorsement of the people towards policies being implemented in the region by the BJP leadership. He said that these polls will also set certain new benchmarks in J&K, with first time a Hindu chief minister from Jammu region taking over the reins of the UT and the parties which used to dominate the erstwhile state by peddling divisive agendas finding no takers at all.
The senior BJP leader said that people's support not only in Jammu region but also in Kashmir Valley this time has put the BJP on driver's seat and therefore no power can stop saffron party from entering the power corridors this time to ensure welfare of the people especially the downtrodden, who had conventionally suffered under the successive regimes of dynastic parties and leaders suffering from narrow-mindedness.
