CBC organizes outreach programme on Mission Life, Poshan Abhiyaan in Tangtse

LEH, Sept 29: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, through its field units Anantnag and Leh, today organized an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at Community Hall, Tangtse, Leh. The event aimed at raising awareness about Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission).
The programme, held in one of the remotest regions, emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, understanding the significance of nutrition, and familiarizing the local population with India's new criminal laws. Resource persons from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Environment, and Education departments urged participants to embrace the principles of Mission LiFE and follow the guidelines of Poshan Abhiyaan for a healthy lifestyle.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Tangtse, Mohammad Ismail, in his speech, highlighted the initiatives of the government, especially with special reference to environment, ICDS and sustainable development. He urged the participants to avail benefits of various schemes.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the crucial role CBC plays in outreach activities. He emphasized that these programmes focus on creating awareness among grassroots communities, especially in far-flung areas, enabling them to benefit from various government schemes and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar Naseer Rather highlighted the role of CBC in field outreach, especially Jammu and Kashmir. He said such integrated communication programmes are being held across the Ladakh region for the next two weeks, ensuring broader reach and impact of various government schemes and welfare initiatives.
The ICDS department set up stalls showcasing various government initiatives and schemes of the government.
An open quiz competition was also held for the participants, who were awarded with momentoes and certificates at the conclusion of the programme.
