| NSUI organizes first ever delegates convention | | Soz calls for propagating Congress policies, achievements | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 26- National Students Union of India (NSUI) today organized a day long State Convention of NSUI delegates at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University Jammu, Jammu. The Convention which was organized under the leadership of Abdul Rashid Choudhary, State President NSUI J&K was attended by 1500 delegates from colleges, university and other educational institutions of the state. Prof Saif-ud-din Soz Union Minister for Water Resources and PCC Chief was the chief guest while Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Health and Medical Education presided over the function. Madan Lal Sharma, MP, Arvinder Singh Micky, Deputy Chairman J & K Legislative Council and Raman Bhalla, MLA were the guests of honour. Throwing light on holding this convention, Rashid Choudhary, State President NSUI said that the main purpose of organizing this convention was to channelize the energy of student’s in right direction and also in nation building. He further said that by organizing such type of convention, NSUI is inculcating a concept of student’s activism and political awareness among the student community. Speaking on the occasion Madan Lal Sharma, MP said NSUI is the nursery of the congress party, which produces leaders of high intellect and caliber. He said that this for the first time that NSUI has organized such a big convention and made a commitment to work for the cause of better education and employment for youth, f got reelected. He also appealed to the voters to vote for his candidature. Prof. Saif-ud-din Soz, in his inaugural address appreciated the State Committee of NSUI for organizing first ever state convention and asked the NSUI activists to propagate the programs and policies of Congress Party and its achievements. Iftikhar Ahmed, State Vice President NSUI J&K spoke about organizational set up of NSUI and raised various demands and issues related to student’s community. |
