Early Times Report

POONCH, Sept 30: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal presided over a crucial training session today for the 88 Micro Observers assigned to monitor the vote counting process for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Elections.
The training session, held at the New Auditorium Hall, Government Degree College, Poonch, aimed to equip the observers with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a smooth and transparent counting process.
The counting of votes for the three assembly constituencies—Surankote, Haveli, and Mendhar—will take place on October 8th at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonch, under tight security to safeguard the integrity of the process.
During the session, DEO Vikas Kundal emphasized the pivotal role Micro Observers play in maintaining transparency and fairness, as outlined by the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI). "Your responsibility is to ensure that the entire process is impartial, accurate, and adheres to the highest standards of integrity," he stated, stressing the importance of professionalism and neutrality.
The training, conducted by District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs), covered essential aspects of the counting process, including the handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the resolution of any issues that may arise during the process.
The DEO was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, along with ROs and other senior officers of the Poonch district.
