GDC Paloura concludes Gandhi Jayanti celebration

JAMMU, Sept 30: Govt. Degree College Paloura concluded its weeklong Gandhi Jayanti celebration with valedictory seminar on the theme "Life and Time of Mahatma Gandhi". GDC Paloura organized a series of activities to mark the celebration of 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji. The aim of the programme was to popularise and to spread awareness regarding Gandhian philosophy among the students. Students of various departments participated in various activities with great enthusiasm and zeal the various activities were organized by IQAC, Literally, Cultural Committee, NCC, NSS and different departments of college. Essay writing, Poster Making Competition, Reel Making, Cleanliness Drive, Plantation Drive and rally against drug abuse were organized under the able guidance of worthy Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour. While speaking on the occasion, she addressed the students about the life and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi and encouraged them to follow the path of peace, truth and non - violence. She congratulated all the students for their active participation and the faculty members for organizing such events. The valedictory function concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Prof. Vishal Magrota, Assistant Professor in History. He said that such kind of celebration served as a platform for student to honour Mahatma Gandhi's teachings and values and promote these ideas of peace, truth and non - violence in their life.
