SAMBA, Sept 30: Pravaad Electoral Literacy Club, Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba organized a Mock Assembly session, followed by a signature campaign and a lively tug of war competition, aimed at promoting voter participation among students and the community. The event held under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the college attracted a large audience of students and faculty, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and engagement.
The Mock Assembly provided students with a platform to simulate the legislative process, enhancing their understanding of democratic procedures and the importance of their vote. During the session, students took on various roles, debating pressing issues and demonstrating how legislation is crafted and passed. This immersive experience not only educated participants but also sparked discussions about civic responsibility and the impact of active citizenship. Following the assembly, a signature campaign was initiated to encourage students to pledge their commitment to vote in upcoming elections. This initiative aimed to create awareness about the significance of voter turnout and the power of each individual's voice in shaping democracy.
The day culminated in a spirited tug of war competition, symbolizing teamwork and community spirit. Students participated enthusiastically, further strengthening bonds within the college and reinforcing the message that collective efforts lead to impactful change. Principal of the college, emphasized the importance of electoral literacy and student engagement in democracy. "Events like these not only educate our youth but also empower them to take an active role in shaping their future," she stated.
