JAMMU, Sept 30: On 2nd October 2024, Dewan Devi Public School commemorated the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, with great enthusiasm. The event, marked by a variety of cultural performances, paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's invaluable contributions to India's freedom struggle and the principles of truth and non-violence. The young students, referred to as the "tender buds" of the school, acknowledged Bapu's legacy, reflecting on his life and the ideals he stood for. Their dedication and sincerity were evident as they showcased various performances in his honor.
In addition to honoring Mahatma Gandhi, the students celebrated the birthday of Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's second Prime Minister. Cultural performances dedicated to both these national leaders captivated the audience, as the students, dressed in vibrant and colorful attire, displayed their talents through songs, dances, and skits.
One of the highlights of the event was a symposium that focused on the importance of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a national campaign inspired by Gandhiji's vision of a clean and healthy India. The students actively participated in discussions about cleanliness and the role they can play in keeping the environment clean.
The event concluded with insightful speeches by the school's Principal, Seloni Anand, and Administrator, Ashwani Suri. They encouraged the students to follow the path of truth, peace, and humility, as exemplified by Gandhiji, and to contribute to the nation by practicing the values of hard work and cleanliness in their everyday lives.
The celebrations left a lasting impact on the students, instilling in them the spirit of patriotism and the importance of adhering to Gandhiji's teachings.
