HPS celebrates birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi

JAMMU, Sept 30: The students of Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti to honour and respect the legacy they left behind. The aim of this special gathering was to remember Gandhi Ji's and Shastri Ji's invaluable contribution to India's freedom struggle and how their principal of truth and non-violence are still remembered today.
The programme started with paying tribute to both the personalities by the Principal of the school Mr Gaurav Charak, Vice-Principal, Anku Charak, Akashdeep Raina (Senior Incharge), Ravinder Sadhu (Administration Officer), Parsidh Singh (Incharge, Higher Secondary Wing), Namrata Sharma (Incharge, Senior Wing) , Vandana Sharma (Incharge, Primary Wing), Aparna Billowria (Incharge, Pre-Primary Wing), Er. Varinder Kumar (IT Incharge) and Mahaan Singh (Sports Incharge).
Special speeches with Gandhian quotes & messages brought the gathering to understand more about the iconic leader. Neha (9th), Jagriti (9th) and Prachi (8th) accentuated the need to inculcate morals of Ahimsa and truth in our lives and to strive for positive behaviour. Clad in dresses depicting Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri, students from the primary wing recited beautiful poems which were liked by all. Girls of class 9th presented melodious song with full exuberance under the guidance of their music teacher Kumar Abhilash & Rajan Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the school Gaurav Charak said "Gandhi Jayanti is the right time to take an oath to follow Gandhian Principles & make life free from the chains of hatred & violence." He also presented his views on Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji's life & his principles of loyalty & honesty towards his own country & also motivated the students by giving a famous slogan of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji i.e. "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan."
All our pupils were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts and vowed to become responsible citizens of India and this World.
