SKUAST wins Cricket Match defeating Elite Club

Jammu, Oct 2: Continuing it's preparation and trials for the coming All India Vice-chancellor's T-20 cricket cup at Chandigarh, SKUAST-Jammu cricket team today played a T-20 cricket match with the Elite Cricket Club Jammu at the SKUAST-Jammu cricket ground. Batting first after winning the toss, SKUAST-Jammu cricket team scored a competitive score of 162 for the loss of 6 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Dr. Arun Manhas scored a quick fire 46 runs of just 28 balls whereas Pankaj Choudhary scored 38 runs, Imran Hussain contributed with 31 runs and Niraj Singh Manhas scored 18 runs. SKUAST-Jammu then restricted the Elite Cricket Club to 109 runs all out in 18.4 overs and won the match by 53 runs. Dr Arun Manhas and Asif took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. Dr Arun Manhas was declared player of the match for his all round performance. It is to mention here that SKUAST-Jammu cricket team is playing a series of matches against different teams of Jammu as preparation as well as TRIALS for selection of team for the coming tournament. Those present during the match include Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. P. K. Rai, Nodal officer sports, Sh. Kewal K. Raina Mentor and coach of the team. SKUAST-Jammu shall play its next match on Saturday.
