| Police arrests 2 bootleggers with illicit liquor in Ramban | | |

RAMBAN, Oct 2: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, launched on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Sh Kulbir Singh JKPS, Police have arrested 02 bootleggers in the Jurisdictions of Police Station Ramban in two different cases.
Police Party of PS Ramban while conducting Patrolling duty apprehended one person namely Dev Raj Son of Kuldeep Singh resident of Hallah Dhandrath Tehsil and District Ramban and recovered 50 bottles (180ML each) of illicit alcohol from his possession.The accused was found illegally selling the liquor and total 50 number of bottles were recovered from his possessions. An FIR No. 243/2024 pursuant to section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation of case ongoing.
In another instance Police party of Police Station Ramban apprehended another Bootlegger namely Shakti Singh S/O Krishan Singh resident of Village Sincha Tehsil and District Ramban and recovered 36 Bottles of (250 ML each)from his possession. The accused was found illegally selling liquor and total 36 Bottles were recovered from his possession. An FIR number 244/2024, pursuant to section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered against him at Police Station Ramban and investigation set into motion. |
