ADDC reviews preparations for counting of ETBPS, Postal Ballots in District

RAJOURI, Oct 2: In compliance with the directions of the District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, the Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, today chaired a crucial review meeting to assess the preparedness for the counting of Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballots (ETBPS) and Postal Ballots in the district.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the requisition of essential equipment, including scanners and printers, required to facilitate the smooth and accurate counting process.
The Nodal Officer for Postal Ballots, Sheraz Chouhan, provided a comprehensive briefing on the current status of postal ballots, outlining the steps taken to ensure transparency and efficiency.
The ADDC emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the handling and counting of ETBPS and Postal Ballots.
He directed all officials involved to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made well in advance to avoid any delays or discrepancies during the counting process.
The meeting was attended by Returning Officers (ROs), District Informatics Officer (DIO) NIC, and other district officers, who actively participated in discussions to ensure seamless coordination among all departments involved.
