JAMMU, Oct 3: In an exciting prelude to the upcoming Legends Cricket Tournament, renowned international and national-level cricketers George Worker from New Zealand, Shaun Marsh from Australia, Peter Trevor from England, and Sachin Rana from India visited the Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Sidhra, today. The world-class sportsmen took a break from the cricketing pitch to enjoy a friendly game of golf at one of India's most picturesque and challenging courses.
Jammu Tawi Golf Course, known for its breathtaking views and demanding terrain, provided the perfect backdrop for these athletes. It is a regular host for the prestigious Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), which is scheduled to be held later this month in the third week of October 2024.
The cricketers expressed their admiration for the course's beauty and the challenges it presents. George Worker praised the lush greenery and the impeccably maintained fairways, saying, "It's rare to find a course that not only tests your skill but also allows you to soak in such scenic beauty." Shaun Marsh added, "This course is one of the toughest I've played, but the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The team here has done an incredible job of creating an environment that's both challenging and relaxing."
Peter Trevor, who is an avid golfer, commented on the unique layout of the course: "The undulating greens and the surrounding mountains make for an unforgettable experience. It's definitely one of the finest courses I've seen in India." Sachin Rana also echoed the positive sentiments, noting, "It was a great time spent with fellow cricketers on a course that's truly world-class. We had a fantastic day here."
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, the Secretary of Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Manav Gupta stated, "We are honoured to welcome such distinguished athletes from around the world to our course. Their positive feedback is a testament to the hard work and continuous efforts we have put into the development of the facility. Our aim has always been to create a top-tier golfing experience that blends the natural beauty of the region with the highest standards of sport. Hosting both international sports personalities and major events reinforces our commitment to making Jammu Tawi Golf Course a premier destination for golfers worldwide."
The visit by these legendary cricketers to Jammu Tawi Golf Course highlights the appeal of the facility to sports enthusiasts from around the globe. With its regular hosting of the PGTI and its growing reputation, the course is fast becoming a top destination for golf aficionados, both national and international.
As the Legends Cricket Tournament kicks off, the cricketers have left behind glowing reviews, not only for Jammu Tawi Golf Course but also for the city of Jammu, expressing their eagerness to return both for cricket and for golf.
