DG Rural Sanitation discusses Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant Technicalities

SRINAGAR, Oct 3: In order to strengthen sanitation infrastructure in Kashmir, a virtual meeting was convened by Director General Rural Sanitation, Anoo Malhotra with the engineering wing of the Rural Development Department & Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR) Kupwara, Shopian, Kulgam and other districts.
The meeting aimed to provide the engineering teams with a comprehensive understanding of Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) processes, ensuring they are well-prepared for the implementation of sustainable sanitation solutions in all the districts of Kashmir division.
On the occasion, the Director General highlighted the need for capacity building and regular monitoring of the project to ensure its long-term sustainability.
She encouraged the engineering teams to maintain close coordination with the Directorate of Rural Sanitation to resolve any challenges that might arise during the implementation phase.
The meeting concluded with a call to action to all stakeholders to work collectively towards the successful establishment of the FSTP and improve public health outcomes through better sanitation services.
