EARLY TIMES REPORT KATRA, Mar 27-For scientific research and educational corporation, the Kurushetra University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra Jammu. Dr. R.P. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Prof. Raghuvendra Tanwar, Registrar, Dr. Sunil Dhingra, Director, IIE and Prof. N.K. Bansal, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, Katra, Prof. M.L.Garg Dean Energy SMVDU and Prof. Kakkar SMVDU were present on the occasion. Both institutions will encourage institutional facilitated contact and cooperation between their students, faculty members, departments and research institutes under the provisions of this Memorandum. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R.P. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University and Prof. N.K.Bansal, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU Katra told the reporters that Kurukshetra University and SMVDU, Katra have identified areas of specialization and the expertise in the fields of Instrumentation Engineering, Management and Commerce, currently available at the two institutions. Both the Universities will extend their cooperation to each other within the scope of this agreement comprising three major elements – education, research and extension activities. This collaboration would lead to joint research for Engineering and Management courses and there will be a specific cooperation between Institute of Instrumentation Engineering (IIE), K.U. Kurukshetra and School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SMVDU, Katra. This collaboration would also provide opportunities for students and faculty team members to spend time and attain experience at each others’ campus for cross-fertilizing the ideas. “A synergy of the academic programs of the two institutions would be of great mutual benefit and would provide unique opportunities for collaboration”, told Dr. Bajpai to the media persons. |
