3/27/2009 10:22:34 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Bhaderwah, Mar 27- Former Minister and senior PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir was restored by the previous PDP led regime in the State and translated the pro-people policies into reality and effectively pursued a pro-peace agenda in its three year tenure.
Addressing series of public meetings at Charala, Thalela, Bhalesa and Gandoh areas of Bhaderwah along with former Minister Peer Mohammad Hussain and newly elected MLC Sayeed Asgar Ali, Veeri, said that visionary measures of enormous political and economic significance taken by the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led regime has yielded encouraging response. “The prevailing peace in the State is result of the policies being propagated by the PDP since its inception”, he said, adding, “Our party has laid strong foundation of development and peace in the State”. Veeri and other leaders of the PDP are on a week long tour of Doda and Kishtwar districts in connection with the forthcoming Lok Sabha and assembly by-election.
Speaking on the occasion, former Minister Peer Mohammad Hussain said that PDP led regime has brought transparency and accountability in the government and carved out a path of equitable development. He reminded the people that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that more concentrations were given to the backward and neglected areas. He urged the people to cast vote in favour of PDP candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and by-polls for Bhaderwah assembly segment.
Sayeed Asgar Ali, MLC cautioned the people against designs of some vested interests who have launched a vicious campaign against PDP. He said that PDP was committed for the equitable development of all regions and sub-regions.
