KVK organizes Live Webcast Programme on PM-KISAN

REASI, Oct 5: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised awareness programme and live webcasting on PM-KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI scheme here today at Akhali Bhutan village in Reasi distt. of J&K which was attended by number of women farmers of the area.
The programme was organized under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Tripathi and guidance of Director Extension, Prof. Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J.During the programme Prime Minister, Narender Modi released the 18th installment of PM-KISAN scheme from Waigul, Washim, Maharashtra and unveiled multiple developmental projects. This installment provided financial aid of Rs. 20,000 crores for 9.4 crore farmers across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Earlier Chief Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal briefed the objective of the programme and elaborated the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme. He said that PM-KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI (PM-KISAN) is a flagship scheme of Govt. of India launched in 2019.He added that through this scheme Rs.6000 is provided to the farmers in three installments so that they can purchase quality seeds, fertilizers and other agro- inputs to increase their crop quality and production.
He also spoke on various other agril. schemes and gave a detail view on scientific agriculture. He stressed on commercial agriculture and guided farmers on organic formulations for more profits.He also discussed on Atam Nirbar Krishi and stressed on natural farming.
He elaborated the scientific farming for enhancing the farmers' income and stressed on SHGs/FPOs for more profits. He also discussed on monkeys menace management and emphasized on spices cultivation. He Participants thanked PM, Narender Modi for their financial support for agricultural development. The programme was concluded by Manohar Lal with formal vote of thanks.
