All Post-Retirement Service Extensions will end under NC-Congress Alliance Govt in J&K: Tony
10/5/2024 9:29:57 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 5: Senior Congress leader and MLA candidate for Bahu Constituency, Taranjit Singh Tony asserted that all post-retirement service extensions will be terminated once the National Conference (NC) and Congress Alliance comes into power in Jammu & Kashmir.
The senior Congress leader stated this while addressing various deputations here today.
Tony firmly criticized the current system, stating that many qualified and deserving individuals are being denied promotions at higher posts in almost all department of Jammu and Kashmir due to the undue influence of money and political power. He pointed out that those benefiting from post-retirement extensions are contributing to a culture of favoritism and inefficiency. "Despite the availability of promotions, qualified individuals are deprived of their rightful positions, as the system favors those who wield influence. This unjust system will be dismantled the moment our government takes charge," Tony asserted.
The Congress leader expressed deep concern over the demoralization among the service class. He said, the practice of granting extensions to retired officials not only demotivates current employees but also creates an atmosphere of discontentment and dishonesty within the workforce. "Granting extensions to retired individuals demoralizes hardworking employees and promotes resentment, dissatisfaction and inefficiency within the system," he remarked.
Tony emphasized that the new NC-Congress government would make it a priority to restore fairness and integrity in the public sector. "All practices of corruption and favoritism, which have kept deserving individuals away from their due promotions, will be brought to an end. The most corrupt and lethargic individuals who are enjoying these extensions will be terminated immediately upon the formation of the new government," he vowed.
The senior leader further added that the brewing resentment among the service class is palpable and pledged that the Congress will work to undo all the wrongs committed by the BJP in J&K. "We will bring fairness, equality, and justice to the forefront of governance, ensuring that merit prevails over influence. The Congress is committed to eradicating the culture of favoritism and promoting a transparent, accountable system," he said.
