DEO Budgam visits Counting Centre

BUDGAM, Oct 5: The District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Akshay Labroo convened a comprehensive review meeting today at Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam (designated counting centre) to assess the preparations for upcoming counting process for General Elections to the Legislative Assembly in the district.
The meeting witnessed participation from ROs of all 5 assembly constituencies, ASP Budgam, Commandant CAPF and designated Nodal Officers.
The DEO engaged in detailed discussions with each officer regarding their specific roles and responsibilities, with updated progress provided on various critical aspects, including the preparation of counting arrangements, manpower management, law and order, security, welfare logistics, transport and parking management, postal ballot and migrant vote counting arrangements, uninterrupted Water supply, 24x7 electricity and availability of healthcare facilities.
The DEO emphasized the importance of seamless coordination and proactive measures to ensure that the counting process is conducted smoothly and efficiently.
Special attention was given to finalizing logistics arrangements and ensuring the welfare of personnel associated with counting.
Later, the DEO, along with ROs of all 5 Assembly constituencies and all Nodal officers, visited the counting centres, media centre, health centre, fire and emergency centre designated for the Counting process.
During the visit, the DEO directed the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary measures are implemented in strict accordance with the guidelines of the ECI, for seamless counting with due accuracy, transparency, and adherence to protocols.
