Empowering Youth in Pir Panjal Region at Peda Gali Rajouri District
10/5/2024 9:47:24 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, Oct 5: The Indian Army has launched an impactful two-week training initiative aimed at preparing youth from the southern Pir Panjal region at Peda Gali, Rajouri for recruitment into the defense forces through the Agnipath scheme. This program is part of a broader effort to provide employment opportunities and instil valuable skills among young individuals in remote areas, particularly amidst rising concerns over youth unemployment. The Agniveer scheme, a government initiative, allows individuals aged 17 to 21 to serve in the armed forces for a limited tenure of four years. After this period, they can choose to either extend their service or transition to civilian life, armed with the skills and experience gained during their military training.
This flexibility is designed to attract a diverse pool of candidates, ensuring that the Indian Army can benefit from the energy and perspectives of the youth.
The training program includes rigorous physical fitness sessions, basic military drills, and team-building activities, all tailored to enhance the participants' readiness for military service. Conducted in collaboration with local educational institutions, the initiative aims to ensure that training is accessible and relevant to the youth of the Pir Panjal region.
Engagement with community leaders and educators has also been a critical component, fostering an environment that encourages local youth to participate. In addition to military preparation, this initiative seeks to cultivate important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience.
These competencies are not only valuable within the context of military service but also enhance employability in various civilian sectors after service completion. By focusing on holistic development, the training program aims to equip participants with a well-rounded skill set that prepares them for the challenges of both military and civilian careers.
The launch of this training initiative reflects a significant commitment to empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, promoting not only national service but also personal and professional development.
As part of the larger Agnipath scheme, this program holds the promise of transforming the military recruitment landscape while positively impacting the lives of young people in the region.
