JU's Bhaderwah campus organizes introductory session

BHADERWAH, Oct 7: The Department of Computer Science, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, today organized an introductory session to welcome the fresher students of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program. The event was attended by faculty members of the department, along with students from MCA 1st and 3rd semesters and BCA 3rd and 5th semester.
In a congratulatory message, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. J P Singh Joorel, extended his warm welcome to the new students of MCA. He encouraged the students to excel in their academic journey and become ambassadors of computer science. Prof. Joorel emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline within the campus to foster a productive learning environment.
Dr. Jatinder Manhas, former Head of the MCA Department and Associate Director of the 'Design Your Course' Program, also shared his thoughts with the students. He encouraged them to take full advantage of the experienced faculty and resources at the department. He highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department of Computer Science, Bhaderwah Campus, and iHUB Divyasampark, IIT Roorkee, which aims to enhance collaborative opportunities in the field of technology and innovation.
Dr. Abid Sarwar, In-Charge Head of the Department of Computer Science, Bhaderwah Campus, provided an overview of the facilities available to the students, urging them to work hard and make both the department and the campus proud. His motivational speech resonated with the students, setting the tone for the academic year ahead.
Faculty members Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Bablu Sharma, Shallu Kotwal and Waseem Akram also addressed the students, offering words of encouragement and guidance for their academic pursuits.
The event saw the presence of notable attendees, including Waseem Akram, Yasar Ali, Arham Saba, Chander Deep, and Parvesh Singh. The introductory session was a valuable opportunity for new students to familiarize themselves with the department, its faculty, and the resources available to them as they embark on their journey in computer science education.
