Police attaches movable property worth lacs of drug kingpin at Vijaypur

SAMBA, Oct 7: As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Police has executed another attachment operation by PS Vijaypur resulting in the freezing/seizure of Car Swift bearing Regd. No. JK08P-1912 worth rupees 8.0 lakhs approximately owned by drug Kingpin namely Mohd Aslam S/o Teg Ali R/o Mathar Chak Tehsil Hirangar Kathua.
The action was taken by Police team headed by SHO PS Vijaypur under sections 68 A.2 (c),& E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions for attachment of properties of drug peddlers/smugglers.
The drug peddler Mohd Aslam is presently in Judicial custody in case FIR No. 99/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/60 NDPS Act of Police Station Vijaypur and is also involved in multiple cases registered under NDPS Act at PS Vijaypur, district Reasi, NCB Jammu and Punjab which includes:

FIR No. 73/2023 0/58/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act of Palice Station Pouni, Reasi
FIR No. 173/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Vijaypur
FIR No. 165/2022 U/S 21 (6)/25 NDPS Act of Police Station STF wing Punjab.
FIR No. 170/2021 U/S 21/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Shahpur Kandi Punjab.
FIR No. 04/2023 U/S 8/21/25/29/60 NDPS Act of NCB Jammu.
The movable property (Car) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/inquiry conducted by the police with the help of transport department. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Samba Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed this unprecedented initiative of Samba Police against drug dealers.
