Field office of Union Ministry of MSME organizes seminar on procurement & marketing support scheme at Leh

LEH, Oct 7: MSME-Development Nucleus Cell, Ladakh the field office of Union Ministry of MSME implements various schemes and activities for the benefit of MSME Sector for Ladakh with jurisdiction of all District's of Ladakh. The activities including Entrepreneurship Awareness Program, Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Program, PM-Vishwakarma Seminar, PM-Vishwakarma Awareness Workshop, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program, Management Development Program, Reimbursement of Barcode Expenditure, Reimbursement of Stall Charges, To and From Charges, Advertising Expenditure for participating in various exhibitions conducted in all parts of the Country.
MSME DNC Leh organized a seminar on Procurement & Marketing Support with objectives to increase the awareness about the Public Procurement Policy among the MSEs of Ladakh. As per the PPP 2012 twenty five percent of Goods and services procured by Various Government departments and PSUs are reserved for exclusive purchase from MSEs with sub target of 4% from SC/ST owned MSEs and 3% from Women owned enterprises. These targets are yet to be achieved by many Government departments and PSUs operating in Ladakh, to achieve this target mission based awareness is needed for the MSEs of Ladakh and this seminar is a step in this direction. Implementing this policy is very crucial for the social development of Ladakh for providing employment opportunities of youth of this region.
The programme is organized as per the directions of G.Velladurai IEDS, Joint Director of MSME DNC Leh. The following departments namely IOCL, CPWD, BSNL, GeM and Director of Industries and Commerce, Ladakh participated in the Seminar and informed about their requirements from MSME sector. The participating departments gave a detailed presentation about their purchase procedure and clarified the queries raised by entrepreneurs during the Q&A Sessions. Earlier DK Tyaghi IEDS Assistant Director MSME DNC Leh delivered a lecture on PPP 2012. Ghulam Mehdi, Executive Coucillor (Industries), LAHDC, was chief Guest for the program and he has appreciated the efforts of MSME DNC and requested to conducted similar programmes for Ladakh. Md. Nazir Sheikh, JKAS, Director Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Ladakh has informed official order for EMD exemption for MSEs of Ladakh in Govt. of Ladakh being issued in a day or two and Tashi Gyaltson Khachu, Chairman, Chamber of Industries & Commerce, Ladakh participated as Guest of Honour and praised the efforts of MSME DNC and requested the support in implementing the PPP 2012. Santosh Gayakwad General Manager Contracts Indian Oil Corp Ltd, Mohan Lal Kohli, Executive Engineer & Senior Manager CPWD Leh, Devender Saini, Sub Divisional Engineer, BSNL Leh, Md. Shah, GeM Trainer, from New Delhi are the officials participated from the PSUs and Government Departments. Deachean Chuskit & Tsering Chorol PM Vishwakarma artisans from Ladakh who have participated in the exhibition at Wardha and had interacted with Prime Minster was also facilitated during the seminar. Rajesh Kumar IEDS Assistant Director MSME DNC Leh delivered vote of thanks in the seminar.
