| VOJ Produced Ashwani Kumar AE involved in disproportionate of assets | | Court granted police remand up to September 25 | |
Jammu, September, 22:- The Vigilance organization Jammu today produced Ashwani Kumar s/o Gandu Ram r/o Trikuta Nagar Assistant Engineer M&RE Division Poonch in custody, who was arrested yesterday by the Vigilance organization in FIR NO 22/2006, which was registered on September 20, 2006 against him. In the much publicized raids conducted by SVO in connection with corruption case and acquiring assets disproportionate to his know source of income for seeking custodial remand.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. JR Kotwal after hearing Chief Prosecuting Officer Mr. Onkar Singh of VOJ and persuade the remand application and granted police remand up to September 25, 2006.
According to the sources accused Ashwani Kumar had filed bail application in the Court, Court directed the VOJ to file report and objections in this bail application.
It is worthwhile mention here the VOJ on a source information conducted secret enquiry and the basis of secret enquiry has raided the house and other places including banks to collect the complete information about the assets acquired by the accused. According to a report accused acquired the assets like a land and house in Poonch Town, a two storey luxurious house at Plot measuring 40/80 in Sector 5 Trikuta Nagar Jammu a plot of land measuring 40/80 in Sector 5 Trikuta Nagar adjacent to the house. A three storey hotel under the name Pine View in a piece of land measuring 3 kanals and 14 Marlas acquired in the name of his wife at Kud, a santro car and two wheeler, investment in movable items such as gold jewellary, bank deposits.
