| Court comes to rescue of J-K couple in Delhi | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 27 : A team of police personnel belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday traced the couple who had gone missing from Udhampur district in Jammu division six days back. A police source told that Khemraj son of retired army personnel hails from Doda, was pursuing his master’s degree course in Commerce stream. Sources said that Khemraj had met Anjum, a Bsc 2nd year student hailing from Nagrota area few months back and both developed a liking for each other. Sources said that both eloped from Udhampur and fled to Delhi where both of them got married clandestinely with the help from an NGO and some of their friends. Police sources told that following the incident Anjum’s father, a Tehsildar in the state government lodged a police complaint alleging that Khemraj has kidnapped her daughter and he has taken her to Delhi. “A team of Jammu & Kashmir Police landed in the Capital on Wednesday to track down a couple,” a senior police officer confirmed to ET. He said that a case of kidnapping was registered against Khemraj after the girl's parents lodged a complaint. "Though both are adults, Anjum's mother complained she had been kidnapped. So it was our duty to look for her. We traced the call details of the couple and rounded up many people in Jammu before we found the Delhi link to the case.'' The official added. However, a Delhi court restricted the police and family members from visiting without prior notice the hostel premises where the couple was staying. The Patiala House court also directed Delhi Police to submit an action taken report Saturday on the first information report (FIR) lodged by the couple for alleged harassment by the girl's family.
